New profile fields for Motorcycle Interests
We have just setup some new member profile fields. Starting today, you will be able to "check" the motorcycle activities that you are interested in and your fellow Metro Atlanta Bikers members will be able to see them.
What does this mean for me?
Be checking off the activities that you like to participate in, fellow members will be able to hookup with you if they have something going on that you might be interested in as well.
How do I change my Motorcycle Interests?
You simply need to update your User Profile (http://www.metroatlantabikers.com/forums/profile.php?do=editprofile). There you will see all the required fields at the top of the list (you have to add something to each of these fields before saving your profile). Among them is Motorcycle Interests. Simply "check" each one of the activities that interests you.
OK, I did all of that, now how do I use it?
Well, currently there are two ways to see someone else's Interests. You can view the Members List (http://www.metroatlantabikers.com/forums/memberlist.php) (the right most field is Motorcycle Interests).
The best way to search for people that have the same interests as you, is to do the following:
Select "Search Members" while inside the Members List and click on "Advanced Search". Or just follow this link (http://www.metroatlantabikers.com/forums/memberlist.php?do=search)
Scroll down the list, filling in the information you want to search for and "check" off the interests
Click on the "Search Now" buttonThis will display all the members matching the fields you selected. Don't go too crazy. The more fields you fill in the less data you will get. Try just selecting a county and the activity you are looking for.
Just remember, it will take people a while to update their profiles.
Wow, that is too much work to search for a member
Yes, it takes a little work to find someone but coming soon we will have a much simplier way for you to search. You will simply use pulldown menus to make your selection and the list of members will appear. We hope to have this finished summer.
