I own a 1983 Yamaha Virago XV750MK. I did attend the Honda school in Alpharetta. This is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Without that school, I can't imagine what I would have done. This has been a thrill and I ride every weekend, even if it is 5 miles. I am still practicing in the "friction zone". I have had a bunch of conk outs. I still am intimiated by inclines and roll backs. It is getting better. This is one beautiful old bike.

Nice bike. :thumb: I know a guy with the 1100 version and he loves his too. They seem to be good bikes.
Ride safe...

Hey xbronx,
Sweet bike. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm slowly getting more comfortable. What helped me keep from stalling is to just not let the clutch 100% out in first gear when starting from a stop. The wet clutch is your friend and feel free to abuse it. The throttle will get you up to speed and most likely, you're going to be gearing up to 2nd anyway. Give it a try and let us know if it helps.
