Any one know of an Atlanta branch of the Patriot Guard?? Since there's a lot of our home boys over in Iran and Iraq you'd think that we'd have a local arm of the Patriot Guard. There was just a news clip on ABC World News about them. I've always been a Lone Wolf rider but I'd jump at a chance to either become or start up a local chapter of that group.

We sent an email to the Dixie Regional Captain of the Patriot Guard about becoming a member and here is the response we got...

Thank you so much for your interest in the PGR.

When on the main PGR web page, www.patriotguard.org (http://www.patriotguard.org/), the registration link is on the upper right, just below the man with the flag on the header. The labels are register and login. The first time, you click on register. That link will take you to the required fields. When you have completed them, you will immediately receive an email with confirmation instructions. Follow the instructions in the email to confirm your registration. Then, for all the other times you go to the website you can click on login. After you are logged in you will have access to the Georgia information.

You will automatically been added to my mass email list.

Please keep an eye on the confirmed missions and pending missions lists on the home page, special missions thread, and also on the Georgia forum for upcoming events. At this time, we have one confirmed mission in Marietta on Saturday listed under confirmed missions and one pending mission.

Georgia has one state captain and eight ride captains. Our ride captains are scattered around the state. We also have two apprentice ride captains that are soon to be qualified and then will be named permanent ride captains. We also have a Help on the Homefront captain, a VA Liaison, and a POW/MIA Information Coordinator.

There is no dress code. Most of our members wear jeans, t-shirt and vest in the summer, and anything that will keep you warm in the winter.

If you have any questions, please let me (genea22@bellsouth.net) know. Hope to see you soon.

GA State Captain Hope this helps!

Thank you. I found their website last night and signed up there. If called I will participate.

I'm a member and (unfortunately) there were two missions this past week. I'll post here if I see more confirmed missions coming up. Riding a mission is truly a humbling experience.
