Buell Firebolt XB12R (http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/firebolt/)

The Buell Firebolt is a very sharp looking bike. A little more naked than I like but it could grow on me. The bike has a comfortable feel but a little bit higher than I like. The weight is good and well distributed.

On the open road is where the Firebolt likes to play. It handles well in the corners and acceleration is not an issue. Well, maybe it is. A small twitch of the wrist will give you a nice little boost. Try explaining that to the officer when he is writing the ticket.

The only other issue I found was braking. It isn't that it won't stop, although it wants to roll, the problem is it can stop! Slight pressure on the brake lever slows you considerably. Give the lever a squeeze and you might find yourself doing a stoppie!

Overall, I'd have to say the Buell Firebolt is a pretty decent ride.

Funny thing, I used to live in Forsyth County. My job brought me to Greer, South Carolina. Anyway, after driving the car up in the mountains I knew I wanted a bike that could get in and out of the corners quick. So I bought a 2005 XB9R with a race ECM and a Drummer exhaust. Sounds great and has loads of torque from bottom to top. If you’re considering the Buell, you might want to check out this Web site http://www.badweatherbikers.com
Some good info there.

The buells are sweet looking bikes. And I love how they got the oil in the swingarm and fuel in the frame. Makes it an awesome handling bike. But from a few friends who owned them and what I have read they aren't that dependable. One buddy said something was always going wrong. So he bought a Ducati 996 and that kept braking. He finaly got an R6 and said he won't go back to American or Italian again.

But if I lived in the moutains I wouldn't have no other bike but a Buell.
