A motorcyclist died in a collision with a van late Monday, blocking seven lanes of southbound Interstate 85, just south of Pleasantdale Road in DeKalb County, police said. A female passenger on the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, said Mekka Parish, a spokeswoman for DeKalb County Police. The accident happened when the driver of the van swerved to avoid a stalled car, and the motorcycle hit the van, Parish said.
