Hello all.

I just purchased a 2004 Suzuki Volusia 800 :moto: and we didn't get the owners manual. Is the manual online somewhere? Or is there a discounted place that I could purchase one?

Thanks.

I did some looking through my stuff but no Volusia manuals.

I found a couple of things though...

Ebay - Suzuki Volusia Service manual (starting at $10)

Repairmanual.com - Suzuki Volusia Service manual ($60)

Call your local Suzuki dealer. A good one in your area is Machines in Motion. Call them at (770) 205-4435 and ask for Myra. She should be able to help you out. Tell her that you were referred by Metro Atlanta Bikers.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Macman. I'll let you know what I end up getting. The bids on E-bay are up to $31 already.

I called Machines In Motion and Myra was going to refer me to the parts department. I asked if there was a manual online somewhere (PDF) but she didn't know.

What would be the difference from the "Service Manual" that is on E-bay and the "Repair Manual" that is from http://RepairManuals.com? I'm thinking I might understand the service manual but not the repair manual? :D

Well, I did some checking and it seems that the Owners Manual is $20 from Suzuki and the Service Manual is about $60 from Suzuki (both have to be ordered through a Suzuki dealer). I don't know of a bike builder that puts their Owners Manuals online as a PDF but lets hope they start doing it soon!

As for Service vs Repair manual, usually they both get pretty technical. A Service Manual usually refers to a factory service manual and a Repair Manual usually refers to a third party repair manual (Chilton, Haynes, etc.). Both will take you through major bike repairs but Service Manuals are usually more technical.

What specifically are you looking for? Tire pressure, service intervals, etc? If so, an Owners or Repair Manual would work good for you.

Hope this helps!

I've just called Machines in Motion and they're checking on ordering the Owners manual. I've placed an order on EBay for the Service Manual for $30.

I'm basically trying to figure out how to properly maintain the bike. Tire pressures, warm up times, schedule of maintenance, etc.

I'm also hoping to get to the point where I can do my own oil changes and some other simple maintenance.

Thanks for your help.

The guy from the parts dept from Machines in Motion just called me back. Sorry, I forgot his name. Owners manual : $9.60. Done deal. I gave him my CC# over the phone and he'll call me when it arrives. Cool!

I picked up the owners manual yesterday. 89 pages of good stuff. Unlike my car's owners manual, I probably will read through this one carefully! :D
