Helen is a very bike friendly town. We've gone there many times and never been disappointed. There are several shops that cater strictly to bikers and carry everything from accessories to leathers. You can also buy and/or get patches sewn on here.

This may be changing.

Most areas that were open to bikers were roped off Sunday. Other areas were demanding $5 to park your bike.

It is rumored there is a move to "remove" the bikers from Helen and cater to a more family crowd... but this is just a rumor.

I was told "free parking for bikers" in the rear of the building but was stocked by the $5 girls demanding money for parking in the dirt where bikes could park.

You be the judge the next time you go.

I hate to hear that! I love riding up to Helen. Next time I'm up there I'll check it out.
